The Swiss Guard is celebrating 500 years (!!) of service to the Pope, and at the Mass the other day, none other than Mozart's "Coronation Mass" for the event, with the Cleveland Orchestra, chorus, and soloists.
Such is the understanding of music for the liturgy of Benedict XVI.
It seems irrelevant that Rembert Weakland, OSB, condemned use of that Mass.
Irrelevant, indeed...
