After a lively discussion in which both sides pointed fingers over the new $1.6 billion budget hole, the JFC has gotten down to business.
The first provision passed was to create 31 positions in the Department of Revenue to go after delinquent taxes. The cost is about $11.8 million for the biennium.
Good luck with that, folks. Maybe they can collect a couple of toasters and bird-feeders. There's usually not much left over when the business goes down.
